Spain - The Journey Down From Santander To Albox

View from our hotel balcony in Santander

and our view on the second night - the cowsheds; it may seem strange but sitting watching the cows after driving, sailing, driving and travelling nonstop for 5 days, was in some way rather relaxing.

Our favorite petrol station on leaving Santander, it is just off the motorway and set in a tranquil  and rural valley and is reminiscent of Austria. The mountains and fir trees surround the station and the occasional sound of cow bells adds to the flavour. We seem to hit this station on the way down and on the way back and we have to make the most of the stop with coffee and a bite to eat.

One of the hotel bedrooms on our journey down. Beautifully presented and spotlessly clean.

Part of the lorry park at dawn outside our bedroom window, after another long day on the road.
